Kratos is obviously a really cool anti-hero. Pulling a sword out of his own body to fight with is hard to top among protagonists (although in Planescape: Torment, your character IS able to equip his own severed arm as a weapon, which is even cooler).When reading the old Greek myths, the patricide pattern is very obvious. This game doesn’t go that far back, but much like Zeus killed his father Cronos, Cronos castrated HIS father Uranus. In all cases, the father attacks first in fear of his children. I always wondered why some son of Zeus didn’t kill him too. He certainly has enough children, given all the women he has seduced/tricked/raped. So, the idea of Kratos being one of Zeus’ children who might actually kill him and continue the cycle is quite interesting.It’s also interesting that the writers had this anti-hero go up against Zeus to make him look especially badass. I mean, when you repeatedly bash in the face of the King of the Gods with a rock, that makes you look really tou
